JOB POSTING: PART-TIME U.S. REPRESENTATIVE AND EVENT ORGANIZER FOR THE QUEBEC FILM AND TELEVISION COUNCIL

The Quebec Film and Television Council (QFTC) is a non-profit organization that contributes to the economic development and competitiveness of Quebec’s audiovisual sector.
We are seeking a part-time U.S. Representative and Event Organizer based in Los Angeles or New York.
 
The U.S. Representative and Event Organizer will report to the National Film and TV Commissioner for the province of Quebec, and the main focus of their positionwill be to promote the province of Quebec as a prime location for film and TV content production. They will promote Quebec’s offering in the areas of scripted and unscripted content, VFX and post-production, animation, music scoring and VR-AR to U.S.-based film and television producers, executive producers, line producers, showrunners and agents. The role will also involve organizing specified QFTC events, mainly in L.A., New York or Atlanta.
The U.S. Representative will contribute to business development by publicizing the Quebec audiovisual scene, identifying new audiovisual projects and growing foreign content investments in the province of Quebec.
 
The U.S. Representative’s responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining and developing the QFTC’s list of U.S. producers, generating new business leads and exploring potential audiovisual projects for the province of Quebec
  • Assisting in recruiting U.S. producers to participate in familiarization tours (virtual or in-person) on a yearly basis
  • Organizing trade missions or events for the Quebec audiovisual industry in Los Angeles, Atlanta and New York
  • Organizing meetings for QFTC visits, including those that coincide with audiovisual events in L.A. or New York
  • Organizing production meetings in the U.S. for Quebec partners
  • Attending various U.S. conferences, industry events, trade shows and festivals as a representative for the Quebec Film and Television Council
QUALIFICATIONS
 
The U.S. Representative must have:
  • Significant experience in the entertainment industry with a strong emphasis in film, television, animation, VFX, post-production and/or related entertainment industry sectors
  • Experience in production, sales, business development, event management and/or distribution
  • Autonomy and a customer-focused approach
  • Organizational skills and business event planning skills
  • Good knowledge of the production landscape and an established relationship with the customer base
  • Strong relationships in the U.S. film and television industry
  • Knowledge of the province of Quebec’s tax incentives
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate in both of Canada’s official languages (English and French); Spanish is an asset
  • Ability to travel within the territory
