Montreal, June 8, 2022 – As an economic development agency, the QFTC pursues the mission of promoting Quebec’s audiovisual services and raising the visibility of the province’s talent internationally. Following 2021’s exceptional results across the whole of the audiovisual industry—$2.5 billion in direct spending in Quebec—the QFTC would like to continue building on the growth of the sector and businesses in Quebec by doubling the number of representatives it has in two of our sector’s most important cities: Los Angeles and New York.

“The United States is the largest market for the production of audiovisual services in Quebec,” affirmed Christine Maestracci, CEO of the QFTC. “An increased presence in these two cities will allow us to better position our audiovisual services targeting foreign markets and increase economic benefits for Quebec companies working in service production, as well as for Quebec’s entire audiovisual ecosystem.”

The Quebec Film and Television Council is proud to announce the appointments of Aurée Lepage as the QFTC’s representative in Los Angeles and Jodi Lieberman as the QFTC’s representative based in New York.

Aurée Lepage has more than ten years of experience on film sets in Quebec, on both local and American productions. She has worked as an assistant director with the likes of Denis Villeneuve and Martin Scorcese, to name a few. With her educational credentials including communication studies with a concentration in film at Cégep André-Grasset and at Santa Monica College, combined with experience in the field, she has a deep understanding of Quebec’s audiovisual ecosystem, which she will put to use during her meetings with producers from the U.S. A resident of Los Angeles for more than 17 years and proficient in three languages (French, English and Spanish), she will be responsible for representing the QFTC in Hollywood.

Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with distinction from Concordia University. Jodi will represent the QFTC in New York, in addition to developing opportunities in the comedy genre throughout the United States.

In their new capacities, Aurée and Jodi will work on promoting Quebec’s audiovisual industry among producers in the U.S. in order to attract projects to Quebec, whether it be for shooting foreign productions, animation, visual effects, post-production, audio recording, etc. These appointments are effective immediately and both will report to Chanelle Routhier, Film and Television Commissioner for the province of Quebec.
