Blade Runner 2049 Brings Back Two Statuettes at the 2018 Oscars

MONTRÉAL, March 5, 2018 The Quebec Film and Television Council (QFTC) congratulates Montréal visual effects studio Framestore and Director of Photography Roger Deakins for the two Oscars they won on Sunday night in the Best Visual Effects and Best Cinematography categories for their work on Blade Runner 2049, directed by Quebec’s own Denis Villeneuve.

“Once again, the exceptional talent and expertise of Quebec creators shines on the international stage, reaffirming our province’s status as a world-class multi-screen production centre,” said Pierre Moreau, CEO of the QFTC.

The QFTC also wishes to congratulate Montréal visual effects studios Atomic Fiction, BUF, MPC and Rodeo FX for their contribution to the feature film Blade Runner 2049, along with all Quebec creators whose work was nominated at the 90th Academy Awards.
