Strategic nominations at the Quebec Film and Television Council

Montreal, May 25th, 2015 - Mr. Pierre Moreau, Managing Director and National Commissioner at the QFTC, is pleased to announce a new structure for the organization.
“As part of our three-year plan, we have created three new executive positions in order to provide greater and more targeted services to our members and partners in Quebec’s audio-visual industry, Moreau said. The nominations we are announcing today emphasize the strength of our current team while also reaffirming our commitment to put greater emphasis on the economical component of our mission.”

Mr. Cyril Loreau has been named Deputy Commissioner and, as such, will be responsible for all services provided to foreign producers. Mr. Loreau, who had been handling local production services at the QFTC since 2009, will henceforth act as representative of the Council as well as its economic development resource aimed at welcoming foreign productions in Quebec, both at the national and now international level. He will oversee the QFTC’s various efforts with all regional film commissions and will implement existing strategies, as well as develop new ones, in order to increase international awareness of Quebec’s tax incentive programs and its full range of world class production services.
Mr. Romain Paulais has been named Director, Secretariat of the Audio-Visual Cluster. In collaboration with the General Manager’s office, Mr. Paulais will be tasked with implementing the QFTC’s action plans and overseeing the collaborative efforts between the Cluster’s various economic and financial entities. He will also be responsible for ensuring that the various working groups created to pursue and execute the action plans remain on course with the QFTC’s 2015-2017 strategic plan, which was recently adopted. Since 2013, Mr. Paulais had been occupying the position of Project Manager for the Secretariat of the Audio-Visual Cluster.

Mrs. Andrée Gendron has been named Director of Communications. She will be responsible for the QFTC’s brand image and visibility in various markets around the world. She will also ensure that all of the Council’s communication and marketing initiatives reflect its economic missions, and provide top quality service to its members and partners. Mrs. Gendron had been Communications Manager at the QFTC since January 2014.
