Reel FX Animation Studios becomes a partner of the project Release your creativity!

QFTC is pleased to have Reel FX Animation Studios as a partner in the project "Release your creativity: Pursue a career in visual effects and animation".

This two-year initiative is supported by the City of Montreal and aims to develop innovative solutions to the current labour shortage while promoting diversity and inclusion in the visual effects and animation sector in Quebec. Opened to all studios, it offers solutions aimed at both recruiting and retaining existing professionals. 

With the support of its partners, QFTC will be able to develop activities that will aim to have long-term effects that promote parity, integration and inclusion for all within the industry. The Council thanks Reel FX Animation Studios for its commitment and support, which are essential to this major project.

 

QFTC was a partner of the Sustainable Production Forum (Vancouver, BC)

QFTC was a sponsor of the 2019 Sustainable Production Forum, which took place on November 1st and 2nd in Vancouver, British Columbia.

During the event, Romain Paulais, Director of the Audiovisual Cluster, introduced theRolling Green project to attendees, including American studios involved in eco-responsible processes for their productions made in Canada. Exchanges were also held with Creative BC to explore collaborative projects that will accelerate the integration of best practices on film sets.

Romain also took the opportunity of his visit to Vancouver to do an interview on ICI Radio-Canada Première about environmental issues in the film industry. 

Developed by the QFTC and Québecor in collaboration with the Conseil Québécois des Événements Écoresponsables (CQEER), Rolling Green is an action plan for the implementation of eco-responsible audiovisual productions in Québec.

The Quebec Film and Television Council was at MIPCOM 2019!

Each year, MIPCOM - The World's Entertainment Content Market gathers more than 13,000 professionals from the entertainment industry. Buyers, producers, distributors are there to exchange and build business relationships.

This 34th edition organized by Reed Midem took place from October 14th to 17th in Cannes. This year, the Quebec Film and Television Council (QFTC) was once again present through its National Film & TV Commissioner, Chanelle Routhier. The outcome of her visit was particularly positive and highlights the current growth of global television and film production worldwide.

 

Attendance at the 2019 Vivats

QFTC was present at the 2019 Vivats, an annual ceremony celebrating the efforts of event planners who choose to reduce their environmental footprint and improve their social and economic footprint.

The event was an opportunity to meet potential partners and suppliers for the development of eco-responsible productions in Quebec through the Rolling Green project.

Chanelle Routhier, our National Film & TV Commissioner, was present in Los Angeles on October 28th and 29th with our representative at Los Angeles, Jennifer Price. They met with several Los Angeles producers to promote film shoots in Quebec!
