The 2nd Canadian Film Commissions Summit 
is on its way!

The Quebec Film and Television Council (QFTC), in partnership with the Vancouver Economic Commission (VEC), is preparing for the 2nd Canadian Film Commissions Summit to be held in Vancouver on May 31.

As part of this event, municipal, regional and provincial film commissions from across Canada are invited to come together around common objectives and to discuss the challenges regarding their industry.

The first edition that took place on January 29 in Gatineau was a great success and the third meeting is scheduled for September in Toronto as part of the Toronto International Film Festival.


QFTC Members Benefit from a Discount on Their Registration to effects America


For its 2019 edition, effects MTL changes its name and becomes effects America.

The QFTC is pleased to be a partner of the event for the fifth consecutive year and to offer its members a discount on their registration. 

The event will take place on June 4 and 5 at the Marché Bonsecours in Montreal.

QFTC members can benefit from the following offer:

  • 10 exhibition passes offered for each QFTC member company using code EF19BCTQ;
  • Maintaining the early bird rate for the Premium Pass until May 16, 2019 (a 15% discount) with the code EF19BCPR.

Presenting Quebec's Offer to European Producers during UNTERVAL


On April 24, as part of a partnership between the Mission d'Affaires & coproduction France-Canada UNTERVAL & the QFTC, Ariane Dagenais-Plante and Pascale Guindon from the Film Commission Services of the QFTC presented Quebec's offer of co-production and location services to European co-producers:

  • Alexandre Gavras from KG PRODUCTIONS
  • Léa Chauliac from BIG BAND STORY
  • Caroline Roussel from ARTURO MIO
  • Bertrand Levallois from WANDA PRODUCTION
  • Patricia Kwende from DELPHY PRODUCTION
  • Ervin Le Goaziou from PORTRAIT ROBOT
  • Teddy Aymard et Xavier de la Vega from PIC EYES

For the second year in a row, and thanks to this partnership, all regional offices in the province of Quebec were invited to present their regions. We would like to thank UNTERVAL for their event, as well as Lynn Blouin from Destination Sherbrooke, Yan Éthier from the Montreal Film Commission and Marie-Josée Pilon from Film Laurentides for their presence.


Spring Fam Tour: 
Three US Producers Visit the Province of Quebec


From April 23th to 25th 2019, QFTC representatives hosted three American producers for a visit of Quebec studios and production companies, in Montreal and in the Laurentians.

The producers invited for this tour were:

  • Ms. Nicole Jackson, Manager of Television Production, Sonar Entertainment
  • Ms. Danielle Gerber, Production Executive, Hulu
  • Mr. Luca Matrundola, Head of Production, AMBI Group

During this Fam Tour, a series of site visits and meetings were organized to connect invited producers with potential Quebec partners and explore shooting infrastructures. For more information
