THE QFTC, SPONSOR OF THE PANEL "ON THE SCREENS OF THE WORLD" AT HUB MONTRÉAL

As a major partner of the visual effects and animation industry, the QFTC was pleased to sponsor the panel "On the Screens of the World" on November 18th as part of Hub Montreal.

On this occasion, Aaron Fickling (DNEG), Yvon Jardel (Rodeo FX) and Olivier Rakoto (ON Animation) each presented the work done by their studio on the productions Men in Black: InternationalStrangers Things season 3 and Playmobil. The panel was also moderated by Lilly Vogelesang, Director of Mill Film Montréal.

As a partner of Hub Montréal for the second consecutive year, the QFTC continues its mission to support the growth and promote Quebec's Film and TV industry.

 

QFTC MEMBERS NETWORKING EVENT

On November 27, approximately 60 QFTC members and the entire team gathered for our semi-annual networking event. The QFTC thanks all who attented as well as our networking partner, the Monville Hotel, for hosting us on this special event.

 

BUSINESS AND CO-PRODUCTION MEETING BETWEEN FRANCE AND CANADA

As part of the QFTC's partnership, Ariane Dagenais-Plante and Romain Paulais were present at Unterval (Rendez-vous d’affaires et de coproduction France-Canada) to present the QFTC to a dozen French producers. The following regional offices were also present: the Montréal Film and TV Commission, BEAM, Sherbrooke Film Office & Film Laurentides to present their services. This 13th edition was produced in partnership with SODEC, the CMF, Telefilm Canada and the QFTC.

 

THE QUEBEC FILM AND TELEVISION COUNCIL WAS AT PRODUCED BY NEW YORK!

On November 9th, The Produced by New York conference took place. The Producers Guild of America organized the day-long conference. Chanelle Routhier, our National Film & TV Commissioner, was present. She was able to meet several producers interested in Quebec's offer for film shoots.

RELEASE YOUR CREATIVITY: VIDEO FROM THE CITY OF MONTRÉAL

The City of Montréal has published a video presenting the project leaders of the 2018-2019 edition of the "Accelarating Talent" program, whose objective is to set up collaborative ecosystems and mobilize multiple stakeholders to team up and find innovative solutions to the workforce issues companies are facing.

It is as part of this program that the QFTC is currently developing its "Release your creativity" initiative dedicated to the visual effects and animation sector. In addition to the City of Montréal's support, there are four industrial partners: DNEGFramestoreReel FX and Technicolor (including Mikros, Mill Film, MPC and Mr X).

The QFTC thanks its partners for their support, as well as all the studios and schools involved in the working committees: Cinesite, DNEG, Framestore, Lost Boys, Mikros, Mill Film, MPC, NAD School, Real by Fake, Reel FX, and Rodeo FX.

 

ROLLING GREEN: QFTC'S ATTENDANCE AT AN ECO-FRIENDLY COMMUNICATION COACHING WORKSHOP

The QFTC was invited to participate in the "Community of Practice in Eco-friendly Communication" workshop at the Maison du Développement Durable on November 27th with the Conseil Québécois des Événements Écoresponsables.

The morning activities included two practical workshops, one of which was dedicated to the Rolling Green project, in order to garner support for our communication strategy.

The Council was pleased to have the opportunity to receive comments and recommendations from strategic communications professionals to help ensure the success of this important initiative for the Film and TV industry and the environment.
