CHRISTINE MAESTRACCI OFFICIALLY APPOINTED AS HEAD OF THE QFTC

The QFTC is proud to announce that Christine Maestracci is now acting CEO of the organization. A lawyer by training, Maestracci joins the QFTC from Quebecor Content, where she served as Vice President, Acquisitions and International Distribution. With more than 20 years of experience in the field of digital entertainment and media, Maestracci is a passionate advocate for local talent and Quebec creativity. She has also been involved for several years with the board of directors of Femmes du Cinéma, de la Télévision et des Médias Numériques (FCTMN), the local chapter of WIFTI (Women in Film & Television International), an organization whose goal is to ensure that women are better represented in the entertainment industry.

 

THE QFTC IS PROUD TO ORGANIZE ITS FOURTH VIRTUAL REALITY FAMILIARIZATION TOUR FOR AMERICAN PRODUCERS!

Wednesday morning, the Quebec Film and Television Council (QFTC) held the fourth edition of its virtual reality familiarization tour. The summer 2021 edition was entirely focused on American television and streaming series producers. Series represent an increasingly important part of the foreign production hosted each year in Quebec. Senior physical production Execs (VPs, SVPs and EVPs) from Legendary TV, Paramount TV, ABC Signature TV (Disney), Blumhouse TV, AMC Studios and Sony Television participated in this edition.

 

LAUNCH OF THE 3RD EDITION OF THE LEADERSHIP AND TEAM MANAGEMENT TRAINING DEDICATED TO WOMEN IN VISUAL EFFECTS AND ANIMATION

The QFTC and the School of Digital Arts, Animation and Design (NAD-UQAC) are particularly pleased to announce the launch of the 3rd edition of the leadership and team management training dedicated to women who hold or wish to hold supervisory positions in the field of visual effects and animation.

This 3rd edition will take place online and will start on October 5th, with two 2-hour sessions per week, on Tuesdays from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm and Saturdays from 10 am to 12 pm. Registration is now open!

 

QFTC SEPTEMBER EVENTS

  • September 9 to 18: Participation in the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF)
  • September 13 to 17: two scouting sessions were organized by the reception team for a documentary and television series project
  • September 28: Meeting organized by the host for the Canada Film and Television Commissions
  • September 29: The Hosting team, in collaboration with the Audiovisual Cluster team, organizes a Live-Action Committee for our members specialized in the filming industry.

GAULT BECOMES A PRESTIGE PARTNER OF THE QFTC

AN IMPRESSIVE MURAL UNVEILED AT LE GERMAIN HOTEL MONTREAL

Le Germain Hotel Montreal has unveiled a major project in collaboration with MURAL, North America's largest urban art festival. The hotel now displays an impressive permanent mural, Dazzle My Heart, by Canadian artist Michelle Hoogveld, on its front facade.

Two facades, 14 storeys high, 80 colors; nothing beats a visit in person to admire this artwork.
