ATTEND THE 2021 VFX | AI SYMPOSIUM
APRIL 28, 2021!
The Quebec Film and Television Council is pleased to invite you to attend the 2021 VFX | AI Symposium, to be held online on April 28. The goal of the Symposium is to offer professionals in the visual effects and animation industry a place to interact and develop a common strategy in order to identify and understand the impacts that the development of artificial intelligence technologies will have on jobs and skills in the sector.
Thanks to our partners, the Conseil Emploi Métropole (CEM) and the École NAD-UQAC (School of Digital Arts, Animation and Design at the University of Quebec at Chicoutimi), and to our discussion promoters, Montréal International and Synthèse Pôle Image Québec.
Our first in a series of lunch conferences was held on April 8, with the theme “How to manage impacts on your international activities”, in partnership with our prestige partner, the National Bank.

FREE ACCESS TO THE NATIONAL PHOTO LIBRARY FOR UNIONIZED LOCATION DIRECTORS
With an eye to making the national photo library an effective and useful tool both for promoting the Province of Quebec as a filming destination and for people in the industry locally, the Quebec Film and Television Council (QFTC) is now offering free access to its photo library to all unionized* (in AQTIS LOCAL 514 IATSE and/or the DGC) locations department members, exclusively through an exchange of services.
Please note that people who are not members of a union’s location department will no longer be able to access the photo library contact information.
NOW ACCEPTING REGISTRATIONS: Course in Leadership and Team Management for Women
The QFTC and the École NAD-UQAC are pleased to announce the opening of registrations for the second leadership and team management course for women who hold or hope to hold a supervisory position.
The online course will start on May 4, 2021, and will consist of two 2-hour sessions per week: Tuesday evenings, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday mornings, 10 a.m. to noon.
After receiving feedback about the first course, the program has been improved through the addition of two new teaching themes: managing remotely and managing team performance/development.
